Sahih al-Bukhari, 7128, Book 92, Hadith 75
`Abdullah bin `Umar said ” No by Allah the Prophet may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him never said that Esa was Red . But what he actually said was , “While I was sleeping, I saw myself performing Tawaf around the Ka`ba. Then I saw an Adam ( dark brown to jet black ) coloured man with lank hair, and water was dropping from his head. I asked, “Who is this?’ They replied, ‘The son of Mary.’ Then I turned and saw a stocky man, red complexion, kinky hair and blind in one eye. His eye looked like a grape protruding out . They said , He is Ad-Dajjal.” The Prophet (ﷺ) added, “The man that resembled the Dajjal most is Ibn Qatan, a man from the tribe of Khuza`a.

Sahih Al Bukhari , 169 , Book 1, Hadith 333
Abdullah Ibn Umar said, the Messenger of Allah may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him said one day between two people was the Dajjal . So he said,” Verily Allah the Blessed and All Mighty is not blind of one eye. Verily, the Masih al-Dajjal is blind in his right eye , like a grape that is swollen, and the Messenger of Allah may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him said: I was shown a vision in my dream that near the Ka’bah was a an Adam(dark brown to jet black) complexioned, the best of the Adam (dark brown to jet black) that you can ever see, his locks of hair were falling on his shoulders. His hair was slightly kinky, and water trickled down from his head. He was placing his bands on the shoulders of two people while circumambulating the Ka’bah. I said: Who is he? They replied: Al-Masih son of Mary. And I saw behind him a man with very kinky hair, blind in his right eye who resembled Ibn Qatan immensely . He was making a circuit around the Ka’bah by placing both his hands on the shoulders of two people. I said: Who is he? They said; It is al-Masih al-Dajjal”
Note: Common sense would tell you that his hair only appeared slightly kinky because it was wet. When kinky hair gets wet, it becomes heavier and drops.

Sharh Al-Nawawi on Sahih Muslim Chapter 1 page 302, Kitabul Iman
Imam Al Nawawi said concerning the discrepancies of the narration of Esa alayhis Salaam.
“It is permissible for the narrator to interpretate Adam as red however what is intended is not the exact literal meaning, but rather that which is near to it
And Allah knows best” .

If we look at how Imam Qurtabi and Ibn Atiyyah explained his understanding of Al Udmah again when he said Udmah was basically a black and red mix = Very dark and sometimes jet black.
Abu Al Abbaas Ahmed Ibn Umar Ibn Ibraheem Al Qurtobi says in his book Al Mufhim Chapter 1 page 400
”Al Adam is from aludmah and it is above(darker than) As Sumurah but lighter than As Sahmah and Al Udmah leans towards the colour black with some redness/ hitting redness ( obviously not the red that meant pale white) ”

Ibn Atiyah said in his book Tafseer Ibn Atiyah Chapter 1 Page 222
The colour Adam is derived from Al Udmah , and it is redness leaning to jet blackness.

And Ibn Sayyadh when he gives the explaining of what Hawaa means
Ibn Mandhoor narrates in Lisan Al Arab Chapter 14 page 209 that,
”Ibn Sayaadah said, ” Shifatu Hawaa: ”Redness hitting blackness” (meaning a blackish red) and there was a lot of talk about this until everything black was named Ahwaa.

Another narration in Musnad Ahmed indicates that he was from the people of colour.
Musnad Ahmed Chapter 50 Page 488
‘ I saw Esa as a young man , white ( brown or pure) , kinky haired’
Some other considerations need to be taken when understanding these reports.
1.The Prophet may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him could NEVER have given two contradictory messages. This is a life and death matter between either following Jesus may Allah’s blessings be upon him or following the Dajjal, commonly known as the Anti Christ.
2. Esa(Jesus) alayhi as Salaam had no father.
3. Due to him having no father, his lineage to the children of Israel is only through his mother which is unusual, as the lineage is usually recognised through the side of the fathers.
4. The story of the Children of Israel is different to the story of the Arabs. The Children of Israel had a different mission. In their times they were the only ones who had to believe as the messengers and Prophets were sent to them alone as a tribe and because of that they were not allowed to marry outside of the Children of Israel nor was it compulsory upon them to spread the message in order to convert other groups. So there would be no apparent reason for Jesus to have looked different from his mother nor is there any reason for his mother to have looked any different from Moses may Allah’s peace be upon them all.
On the authority of Jabir b. ‘Abdullah Al-Ansari who said,
